Gibbs Farm

Gibb’s Farms offers an idyllic retreat while visiting the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park. Wonderfully positioned on the outer slopes of the Ngorongoro conservation area, the property is an original farmhouse harking back to Tanzania’s colonial era, set amongst the tranquil surroundings of a working coffee estate. 

Accommodation is between 17 one-bedroom charming cottages, with cosy interiors, private verandahs and stone fireplaces, scattered across the grounds. The original main house offers an inviting living room, two dining rooms and an extensive patio area where guests can enjoy a sundowner and look across the beautiful gardens. An onsite spa provides a range of wellness treatments using organic ingredients and indigenous plants - the Arabica coffee scrub is a must try!

A variety of farm activities such as coffee tours and walks through the ten-acre vegetable garden, can be enjoyed at Gibb’s Farm. Full and half day safaris are available to the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Lake Eyasi. A highlight of any trip is to leave on foot for a two hour walk, through the forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Conservation area, to discover the incredible ‘elephant caves’.
