Lewa Safari Camp

Lewa Safari Camp | Meru

Lewa Safari Camp, located in the far western side of Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, was originally built as a base for the ranch manager in the 1980s, and is now run by Elewana - an established safari company in East Africa. The camp was, and is still, the only camp owned by Lewa Wildlife Conservancy itself, where profits and fees generated are reinvested back into the conservation and community efforts of the conservancy.

There are 15 large tented units, each with good distance and shrubbery between them allowing for plenty of privacy and space. The room interiors are simple but stylish offering great comfort and a ‘homely’ feel. There are two family units which present the perfect option for young families or close groups travelling together. Overall Lewa Safari Camp is a small, relaxed and authentic retreat, with lovely staff and plenty of action at the waterhole in front.

Staying on Lewa never disappoints; visitors to the conservancy can revel in a top notch safari experience with lion, leopard, over 200 black and white rhino and a multitude of bird species. The conservancy is home to the largest concentration of the endangered Grevy’s zebra as well as other endemic species of the area.
