Little Chem Chem | Tarangire

Little Chem Chem, also known as ‘the sunrise camp’, set within a private 16,000 ha concession area and adjoining the Tarangire National Park is a true safari experience. This is ‘big game country’ where unfenced territory sees animals wander directly through the camp.

Only a handful of ensuite tents ensure total peace and seclusion among a real wilderness and intimate setting. Each of the six vintage safari-style tents features a large bedroom space, a dressing room as well as both an indoor and outdoor shower. From your cosy tent you can fall asleep to the wild sounds of the night; calling lions, laughing hyenas and animal tracks in the morning, are sure to enliven the senses!

This camp is the perfect base to explore Africa with the authenticity of a bygone era, and guests are welcomed to be as busy or quiet as they like. Traditional game drives are in open sided 4x4 vehicles, with the option of a helicopter flight or hot air balloon safari for a totally different perspective. The area is home to a multitude of bird species allowing for some really beautiful photographic opportunities while a nearby Maasai village offers the chance to interact with the local community and see another way of life.
