Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp
Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp | Uganda
Situated high on a flat ridge and hidden under the pristine canopy of Bwindi’s Impenetrable Forest, is Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp - a unique and exclusive camp which is so well sited that gorillas are known to pass by - bringing you as close to nature and Uganda’s gentle giants, as possible.
As the only accommodation located within the national park - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - it’s no surprise that the Sanctuary Retreats philanthropy has ensured a small camp of just ten ecologically responsible tents. Spacious, stylish and offering two queen sized beds, each room overlooks the atmospheric mountain sanctuary which is home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorilla population.
Bwindi is a haven for many other animals including Colobus monkeys and chimps as well as a plethora of birds and butterfly species. As one of the best places to experience the gorillas, Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp provides the ideal base to begin your trek. Forest walks, cultural visits to the local communities and encounters with the Batwa tribe can all be arranged by staff at the camp.
