Sarara Camp

Sarara Camp | Matthews Mountains

With sensational and seemingly endless views of the Matthews Range in northern Kenya, lies Sarara Camp, part of the Sarara conservation brand that partners with local communities to provide sustainable and experiential travel experiences. The location is the Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy; an area of approximately 850,000 acres of pristine wilderness and home to the indigenous Samburu tribe.

The camp is small and intimate with just six luxury, en-suite tents that overlook the majestic mountain range in the distance and the waterhole below - an animal ‘hotspot’ in an otherwise wild and arid environment. The rooms are particularly spacious with high ceilings, and canvas sides that can be rolled up during the day for good airflow. The camp also offers a two bedroom unit, Loimugie House, which comes with its own pool, sitting and dining areas - perfect for families or close friends traveling together.

Game viewing from Sarara is hugely rewarding with elephants, buffalo, warthog, impala, kudu and reticulated giraffe seen in plentiful numbers. Lesser seen species such as gerenuk, wild dog and the elusive leopard can also be found if luck is on your side.
