Elevated on a rocky outcrop in the tribal lands of Samburu National Park and looking out across the private Kalama wildlife conservancy, Saruni is the only lodge in over 200,000 acres of unspoiled, protected wilderness. Here you will be guided by Samburu warriors - an amazing opportunity to learn all about their fascinating culture, ancient heritage and the incredible wildlife of Kenya’s northern frontier district.

There are just six luxury villas which are all expertly crafted into the cliff face of a giant volcanic red rock, heralding the most spectacular views of the landscape below. The rooms are open, spacious and blend into the dramatic but natural environment. A main dining and lounge area as well as two infinity pools and a spa provide lovely alternative areas to rest, relax and reminisce with other guests on your daily sightings. 

The area is teeming with wildlife; huge herds of elephants, the elusive leopard and even packs of endangered African wild dogs. You also have a good chance of spotting the Samburu Five: Beisa oryx, Reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk and Grevy’s zebra are top of most wildlife checklists.
