Named after a mighty Silverback whose legacy lives on in Rwanda, Kwitonda Lodge by Singita offers the discerning traveler a bespoke experience with sustainability at the core of its eco-conscious design. Its strategic location, set right on the edge of the Volcanoes National Park - home more than a third of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, guests are treated to unrivalled views of the Sabyinyo, Muhabura and Gahinga volcanoes, as well as breathtaking scenery of the Rwandan countryside. 

Eight luxury suites and a 4-bedroom villa, are all constructed with sustainably sourced materials, designed with respect to its remarkable location. Built by nearby local communities, the large rooms, crafted from red clay brick and river stone, allows guests to really connect with their tranquil surroundings. Private heated plunge pools as well as both indoor and outdoor fireplaces, offer much needed warmth in the highlands.

For most, spending a precious hour with the gorillas is the main attraction from this lodge. Golden monkeys offer another exciting primate experience which requires a separate permit and a different trail. Kwitonda provides many engaging onsite activities such as world class wine tastings, birding walks, state-of-the-art photo editing facilities and tours around the Akarabo nursery - giving guests an insight into the lodge’s farm to table journey.
