Amboseli Overview

Amboseli National Park is located in southern Kenya and spans 392km2 of the 8,000km2 Amboseli ecosystem along the Kenya - Tanzania border. It’s known for its large elephant herds and views of immense Mount Kilimanjaro, across the border in Tanzania and is the second most popular wildlife area in Kenya. Observation Hill offers visitors the opportunity to view stunning panoramic views of the park's varied plains and swamps.

Cape buffalo, impala, hyena, lion, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, gazelle and wildebeest as well as hundreds of varied bird species are drawn to the lush green wetlands within Amboseli National Park.

When is the best time to visit?

Amboseli is good to visit all year round however there are typically heavy rains from mid March to late May. From December to mid-March, the days are hot and sunny, usually with clear skies.
