There are fewer than 900 mountain gorillas in existence today, and gorilla trekking provides a unique and rare opportunity to observe the everyday interactions of these gentle, mysterious primates.

Mountain gorillas only inhabit the dense vegetation of Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and along the dormant volcanic Virunga mountain range that stretches across Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, Uganda’s Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, and Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The unique opportunity to see gorillas in their natural habitat is truly unforgettable, and many even say life changing. Encounters with gorillas are managed carefully with expert trackers and guides leading small groups of tourists up bamboo-covered slopes to spend a precious and unique time just a few feet away from the gentle creatures.
