Kenya Overview
Kenya is the traditional home of the safari. This is where Roosevelt, Hemingway and Europe’s royal families came to safari. With “safari” being the Swahili for “journey”, there is arguably no better place to enjoy the journey of a lifetime than Kenya. With an awesome degree of diversity Kenya offers incredible experiences from the luxury of the white sand beaches, strewn with palm trees and warm blue waters along the Indian Ocean to the vast grassy plains of the Masai Mara, renowned for its immense variety of wildlife.
Whilst English and Swahili are the official languages, the country has at least 40 different ethnic African groups (including the Kikuyu, Luhya, Kalenjin tribes, Luo, Kamba, Kisii, Meru & Embu, Mijikenda, Swahili, Turkana and Masai) who speak a variety of languages. Waves of migration over the centuries have led to Kenya becoming one of the most diverse African countries in terms of both culture and language. Whether you want an adventure filled holiday with friends or a relaxing trip of a lifetime, Kenya is a superb choice.
